Monday Funnies - Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to the best people mommy on the planet!
Happy Birthday to you!

First things first. Happy Birthday to our mom. The old gal has made it another year despite visits from "The Wrinkle Fairy", "The Big Butt Fairy", "The Gray Hair Fairy" and all their fairy friends that have made the trip from old-age fairyland to make their presence known.

We love you mom.
You, by far, have the most comfy and cushy body in the whole family. We love the extra pounds. That helps make snuggle time the best. We don't mind your gray hair (we just don't like the icky smell of the chemicals you like to use to get rid of those pesky gray's). We certainly don't mind your wrinkles - the more you get the more you start to resemble an English Bulldog and being a dog is cool! But your big butt does cause problems for Oscar on occasion when he is trying to "share" the recliner with you. We like that you are always cold and need to layer on the clothing or cover up with a blanket when you are sitting down. We don't mind sharing the blanket with you. But most of all Mom, we love you because of your most delicious treats that you are always making for us. Without you, we would probably whither away to mere existences of ourselves and that would definitely not be good.

So Mom, we want to wish you the best of days with many more to come. (Just remember to take your medicine for your achy knees, continue to take your vitamins and eat good for a healthy shiny coat, visit the doctor and stay up-to-date on your shots, but most importantly, always remember to wear your glasses. We wouldn't want you running into anything or falling down the steps. Old people break their hips during falls all the time and we wouldn't want that to happen to you.)

Hugs and kisses,
Tinkerbell, Oscar and Tucker

More Praying Mantis Fun

We're so glad everyone like the photo yesterday of Taz and the praying mantis. This epic battle raged for at least half an hour. We're not quite sure how it ended since they took the match under the deck. We heard a lot of scuffling going on. We kept yelling at Taz to "run away! She wants to eat your head!" But he just wouldn't listen to us. The mantis got a couple good licks in on Taz' nose too! What was even more funny was when our girl was taking pictures, the praying mantis actually turned and started walking toward her! She was after her head too! Good thing Taz was there to divert the mantis' attention back to himself.

Here's a few more pictures of the battle.

Lucky Friday

Hi. It's me Oscar. Hope your Friday is going well.

Fall is definitely upon us here in Ohio. We have gone from decent weather to "Geesh, who turned off the heat?" weather. Very rainy, cold and blustery. I always thought Spring was supposed to come in like a lion. Autumn came in like a banshee!

Being a dachshund, I like to snuggle, burrow and hog every sunbeam I can find. I like to always be warm. I can honestly admit that I am very piggish when it comes to blankets, comfy beds and warm laps. Hey, a doxies got to do what a doxies got to do. In fact, my nickname is The Mole. Not because I like to burrow but because I am always attached to my mom some how. Let's face it, I got lucky when my family brought me into my forever home because my mom is a freeze-cat. The old gal is always cold and therefore, always snuggling up in a blanket or wearing twenty layers of clothing. She is the ideal candidate for me to latch on to... therefore, I am her mole.

Truthfully, I think she enjoys every minute of my snuggling. She usually keeps her complaints to a minimum when I am pushing her rump into the side of the recliner or when I have burrowed under the blankets in bed at night and have decided to stretch out... perpendicular. What a trooper she is!

So, on this Lucky Friday, I feel it is safe to say that my mom is the luckiest for having a dog like me to keep her warm at all times.

Okay, my friends. Where is your favorite place to sleep? How have you made your family lucky by having you in their lives?

By the way, this is how Tucker has to sleep now. Always with one eye open.

That's right little buddy - always wonder when I will release my full revenge upon you for airing my dirty laundry for all the internet to read. Sweet dreams Tucker.

We will be attending PugFair tomorrow. Lots of pictures next week (if mom remembers her camera).
Have a great weekend my friends!

Tuesday Time with Tucker

Hi everyone. Tucker here. Lately I've been using my valuable Tuesday computer time to poke fun at my little brother Oscar. Apparently, he is a little disgruntled with me and is right now, as we speak, plotting his revenge. I'm a little worried because he can be a wily little dude at times. I have seen a lot of emails from the ACME company lately. Tinkerbell tells me that I should watch my back at all times. I've tried that but I just get dizzy going in circles trying to keep my eyes looking at my back. Tinkerbell just laughs at me. She is no help at all.

So, since I am busy with my eyes, I thought you might like to see some really cool visuals with your own eyes. Not a whole lot of work involved either. All you need to do is to go to Google images and type in "Photoshopped Animals". That's it. Trust me when I say that you will laugh at all the crazy animals that have been created by some very talented graphic artists.

Have fun and if you want to see some more funny stuff, check out the photoshopped celebrities. They are hysterical!

Catch you later!

Wordless Wednesday - Dog Park Photos

Our sincerest apologies regarding the quality of the photos. They were taken with a cell phone camera. You will still be able to see the happiness and fun on our faces.

We love this place!

What a bunch of lucky dogs we are to have such a nice dog park so close to our home.

Tuesday Time With Tucker

Tucker here.

"Tuesday Time with Tucker" is actually not about me today. I know, shocker, right? Today is all about his royal whinyness Oscar. I had video shot when we went to the dog park this weekend. I will share with you all what we have to go through every time we ride in the car - even to go to the greatest place on earth, the dog park.

Listening to Oscar whine the whole 3 miles to the park is like getting neutered all over again. Here is 32 seconds of excrutiating and down-right painful noise. Practically makes my ears bleed!

Just thought I would share with all of you.
Heck, what are friends for, right?
Now you can all feel my pain.

For the love of a dog

THE WIENER AND THE WARNING

Upon entering the little country store, the stranger noticed a sign saying "DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG!" posted on the glass door. Inside, he noticed a harmless old dachshund asleep on the floor beside the cash register. He asked the store manager, "Is THAT the dog folks are supposed to beware of?" "Yep, that's him," he replied. The stranger couldn't help but be amused. "That certainly doesn't look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?" "Because", the owner replied, "before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him."

Oscar, you are one cool little guy.

Lucky Friday

Who knew how wonderful today was going to be when we woke up this morning. The day started out as usual... Oscar had to pounce on top of Mom to wake her up. Tink stood next to the bed heavy breathing in Moms face and Tucker huffed in her face, just for good measure.

The old girl finally lugged herself out of bed to take us outside to tackle our morning ritual of "watering the lawn." We made our way off our deck into the lawn when we all put on the brakes. It was like we were a doggie train piling into each other.

Overnight a town was built in our yard!

Mom told us to stay back and take care of business in another part of the yard but our curiosity was piqued. What were these things and who built them?

As we were walking back toward the house, something shiny caught our eye. We've heard stories but could it actually be true? Was there really a leprechaun and a pot of gold in our backyard?

As quick as a flash that sparkle was gone. The town remains so we are going to keep our eyes open for the return of the little man in tights. Mom said she is going to buy a lottery ticket, just in case.

Later, after Mom had drank half a pot of coffee and was checking her emails she came across this. Some of the coolest kids on the block, Life with Dogs, have given us their illustrious "Gold Hydrant Award". These crazy kids from Vermont make us laugh so hard our tummies hurt! We are humbled and thank you guys so much for thinking of us.

What a wonderful way to slide into the weekend.
We are some truly lucky dogs. We're hoping that all of our friends have a little bit of luck this weekend too. Be safe!

Monday Funnies

All dogs are the descendant of the wolf.
These wolves lived in eastern Asia about 15,000 years ago.

Look at us.
We are ferocious, just like our ancestors.
Oscar is even giving the "evil eye".
Grrrrrrr.
We are wolves.

Note from Mom: Hahahahahahaha!
The rabbits in the back yard are shaking in their little rabbits feet!
