More Praying Mantis Fun

We're so glad everyone like the photo yesterday of Taz and the praying mantis. This epic battle raged for at least half an hour. We're not quite sure how it ended since they took the match under the deck. We heard a lot of scuffling going on. We kept yelling at Taz to "run away! She wants to eat your head!" But he just wouldn't listen to us. The mantis got a couple good licks in on Taz' nose too! What was even more funny was when our girl was taking pictures, the praying mantis actually turned and started walking toward her! She was after her head too! Good thing Taz was there to divert the mantis' attention back to himself.

Here's a few more pictures of the battle.

The King is in his Court

Greetings all two-leggers and those of the canine persuasion.
It is I, Taz.

Why have I lowered my standards to actually spend time posting on this meaningless dog-infused blog?
Because today is my birthday, that's why.
I am now the prime-time age of 6
(in people years, of course).

Did you know that thousands of years ago, Egyptians worshipped cats...
and we have never forgotten this?!?

Therefore, bow down and serve me my servants.
This king feline is ready for my many treats, new toys and kitty scratches.

Let's not forget the Cat Creed: Everything here is mine.
And remember, a dog is a simple creature. They will come when called.
A cat, on the other hand, is not. They will take a message and get back to you.

P.S. You'll never see eight of us pulling a sled. Tsk! Tsk!

Life is good

Our family returned from their vacation... finally! Sounds like they had a really great time visiting Mickey Mouse. In all honesty, we had a really great time too. We met lots of new friends who were in the same situation as us so we all decided to play together and have lots of fun. Don't tell our family that though. They are still feeling really guilty about leaving us and we don't want the extra treats, snuggles and special attention to end any time soon. Oscar is never going to let Mom out of his sight again! We even missed that crazy cat of ours, Taz.

We have a lot of work to do catching up with everyone and what has been going on for the last week. We're going to give you a teaser for tomorrow's post though. It has to do with a major change for Tucker. Check back tomorrow for our "Wordless Wednesday." We can't wait to hear all your comments. [snicker, snicker]

Observe the Magic of the Great and Powerful Taz

Taz here. Check out my magic trick.

All you need is me, Tazzers the kitty cat, and one windowsill.

Watch how I magically cut my body in half.

Ta Da!

Hey Taz - that was really cool. Do you have a disappearing act also?

Look up!

You know spring is finally here when you see the return of the tree cats. Camouflaged to blend into the bark of the tree, they are known to capture any bird or squirrel that may venture or fly to the tree. Watch out below though. They will pounce on any unsuspecting dog that ventures by. They will "cat"apult themselves onto the back of any uncourageous small dog, scaring the bejebus out of them, and be out of site before the dog is able to come to their senses.

Be aware... be very aware.

Watch out for the claws!

We caught him...

Look What I Got

Hey Mom!
Look what I got!

I took care of that crazy cat.
He won't be hacking our blog any more!
Dog Rule - Cats Drool!
Aren't I a good girl?!?

(No cats were harmed in the making of this post. The critter in Tink's mouth is really just a toy raccoon. Taz isn't really such a bad cat. We like him a lot. He just got carried away a little. The cat-astrophe has be stymied.)

A weekend of complete control

Taz here.

I have spent the weekend flaunting around the house, flicking my tail at the canines reminding them that I have control of their blog.

On Saturday, I spent the day jumping out of dark rooms or from behind doors and scaring the bejeebies out of the little furballs. The boys are sooooo easy to intimidate! Tinkerbell is a lot bigger than me but I didn't let that bother me. I made sure to lay in my families lap and bat at her nose whenever she came by for some lovin'. I also sat by their food bowls and casually licked my paws. Oscar won't come near the food for fear or getting a face full of kitty claws.

Sunday was a bit more challenging. It was as if their little minds got together and plotted against me. I had a few moments of being corralled under the kitchen table with no way out in sight. Thank goodness Mom scolded the mangy mutts telling them to leave me alone. I decided to remind them who was in charge by sitting high above so they would have to look up to me. I am king of the world!

There were a few moments where I shared the blankets with them. What can I say? A cat loves to snuggle! They know better than to hog all the blankets. I sat on Oscar when he decided to take up too much of my girl's lap. I love my girl - whenever she is in the bathroom I like to sit outside and sing to her. She reminds me every day that she is going to some place called "college" in a few years and is promising to take me away from the smelly dog-beasts!

I am looking forward to a day full of torments and cat-titude! I'll let you know all about what fun I have torturing their little minds today.

Until then,
Taz

HACKED BLOG!!!

Muawahahahahahahahaha (evil laugh)

This blog has been CATNAPPED!!!

I have taken over this blog!
WHY?
Because I can!

Those three stupid, smelly, dimwitted dogs have no idea the potential of this blog. They spend every day typing away about how wonderful they are and how wonderful their family is and how wonderful their treats are and how wonderful their toys are. They are so short-minded that they don't realize that with this blog, they have the power to RULE THE WORLD!!!

Muawahahahahahahahaha
(yet another evil laugh)

(Okay. Have to admit that life is pretty cushy for all of us. Our family treats us all like royalty so I take back any misleadings that I was plotting against my people. This is personal - just me and the dogs!)

I think I am going to spend the weekend toying with their small minds, stalking their every move and flaunting my feline abilities in front of them. They alway
s forget that I still have my claws!

Stop by on Monday and I'll share all the cat-tastic ways I tormented those ever-willing-to-please canines.

Until then,

Taz,
Ruler of the World

Muawahahahahahahahaha
(final evil laugh, fade to black...)

Bane of our existence

To say that something or someone is "the bane of my existence"
means that the person or thing is a constant irritant
or source of misery.
"Bane of my existence" has lost its edge to a large degree
over the years,
and today is most often applied to something
that may profoundly annoy us but is certainly bearable.
Meet the bane of our existence...
