Lucky Friday

Live. Laugh. Love.

Wonderful words to live by.
We are lucky to have the loving family that we do.

Wishing all of our friends a happy, safe and love-filled weekend.

Time to pick the berries

It is time.

This weekend we are going on our annual trip to Kentucky to pick blackberries! Not just any blackberries... thornless ones so we don't hurt our little paws.

We love picking blackberries!

Our family makes jelly, jam and cobbler with them. They are even good with vanilla ice cream! Last year we picked 215 pounds of blackberries. Wonder how many we will pick this year.

Round #5

Economic Survival. Layoffs. Downsizing. Job Market. Recession.

These are all words we hear a lot in our home. Since we are merely dogs, we're not quite sure what all of it means but we do know that our kibble and treats rely on it. We live in Ohio and apparently our state isn't in a very good condition right now. There are a lot of people who have been layed off and are looking for jobs. That means there are lots of dogs losing their kibble.

There's an old saying that if mom's not happy, no one's happy. This old saying rang true for us last week... all because of these ugly words we hear a lot.

Our mom works full-time outside of our home. Our kibble depends on that. Well, a week and a half ago, our moms company went through round #5 of layoffs (in less than a year). 100 more co-workers lost their jobs. So sad.
Our mom survived the cut - yeah! We will be able to eat!

We know you are a bunch of smart cookies and know what all this means.
MORE WORK FOR MOM!
Last week was a nightmare for her. She was crazy-busy taking on the work of two others who didn't make the cut. She is very organized so we know she will get the
chaos under control but WOW! What a week! We hardly had any computer time and have missed a lot of what our friends have been up to. Time to get back on track!

Life can truly be rough some times.

We have learned that when times get tough

and life has you down,

you must find the strength to rebound and make your way back to the top.

Norm from Cheers once said, "It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milk-bone underwear." Our paws are crossed for all those unemployed, looking for jobs, in hope that they will find employment very soon.
