True Love Thursday

A dog is the only thing on this earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

Never met a Puggle we didn't like

Check us out!
Sometimes we are so smart it's scary!

Our favorite friend from the south side of Chicago
Mr. Puggle is celebrating his 100th post this week with lots of fun and games. We were the closest guess as to why he has a no ketchup icon in his banner. Join in the fun, get to know him, congratulate him and whatever you do, do not call him a Cubs fan!
Also, this seems to be award week for us. We received another wonderful award from our favorite ladies in the UK, Martha and Bailey. These Scottish lassies are always a delight. If you haven't met them yet, pop over and say hello.

"This award is presented to those dog bloggers out there who know the meaning of GREATNESS. Their blogs are consistently interesting, funny or informative. Their KINDNESS is extended to others without expectation of it's return, and their FRIENDSHIP inspires others to do EXTRAORDINARY things. These are the blogs you can't wait to read every day. In short, they are AWE-INSPIRING, ful of wonder, and simply PAWsome!"

We would like to pass this award to:
drum roll please...

Joe's Foster Dogs - take the time to visit Joe. What a great story!

The Brat Pack - Tink loves them cuz Girlz Rule. Boyz Drool!

Shiner, Qwill and Trophy - We absolutely love these guys!

Awesome Dogs @ OB Dog Beach - she's a California girl with separation anxiety

For the love of wiener dogs - Oscar is crazy about Sasha the doxie!

The Painter Pack - a truly wonderful group of dogs! Tink is smitten with Maxie Doodle!

Please take a moment and visit these blogs. You will truly be glad that you did.
Thanks again ladies (Martha and Bailey) for this award!

Who turned on the heat?

Our temperatures have gone from cold, winter weather to setting temperature highs for our area. Where did Spring go and who turned on the heat? Our family decided, after much persistent panting in their faces, that it was time to turn on the air conditioning in the house. Ahhhhh. Our boy Tucker decided he needed all the cold air for himself.

Vent Hog!
We're looking forward to cooler but more enjoyable temperatures the rest of the week.

Don't you just love an unexpected present? We definitely do! It's like a birthday or holiday all over again. We would like to thank our friend Samantha at
GoldenSamantha for thinking of us and passing on this wonderful award.

P.S. We think you are pretty cool too!

Baseball is forever tainted

Link
The sport of baseball has taken another blow to its credibility.
Recent photographic evidence proves it wasn't just his steroid usage,
Barry Bonds had even more help.

The bad-of-all-bads, Mr. Stick, strikes again!

He is determined to lead a life of crime - impaling innocent dogs in the neck, infiltrating the White House lawn and giving bad advice to Ms. California.
Will this degenerate ever be caught?

Join in the fun to catch the insane Mr. Stick.

Happy First Birthday Tucker

Yesterday we celebrated Tucker's first birthday. What a year it has been! He was the dog no one wanted until we adopted him and what a tremendous impact he has made in our lives. There is never a dull moment when Tuck is around. Sometimes the boy acts like he isn't playing with a full deck and other times... pretty much the same. He is our creepy creeper, our super star but most importantly, our Dude.

Enjoy some photos of Tuck throughout his first year as a part of the family "TEAM DAY".

Love Story

Happy Friday everyone! We finally made it to the weekend and what a weekend it is going to be. The weather here in our little spot of the world is GLORIOUS! We are ready to bust outside and enjoy it so our Friday post, as usual, is why we are so lucky. Our family fell into the 100% category. Where does your family fall?

How much does your family love you?

1 percent of dog owners . . . throw their pooches birthday parties

33 percent of dog owners . . . talk to their dogs on the phone

55 percent of dog owners . . . buy their dogs Christmas gifts

58 percent of dog owners . . . include their pets in family portraits

60 percent of dog owners . . . have a coat, sweater, or rain coat to keep their furry friends warm and dry

70 percent of dog owners . . . sign their pet's name to holiday and greeting cards

87 percent of dog owners . . . curl up with their pooch to watch TV

88 percent of dog owners . . . give their pets treats daily

How lucky are you?

Have a great weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather!

Poor Customer Service

What's a dog got to do to get a meal around here?
I did not just hear the word "Diet", did I?
Oscar's the fat guy, not me. Put him on the stinking diet!
You just can't cut a boy off from his food bowl!

And miles to go before we sleep...

So much to blog about today so let's jump right into it with all twelve of our feet and get going!

First of all... Happy Earth Day!

We're not going to bombard you with all the ways you can reduce your carbon footprints. We're sure you are hearing it everywhere you turn today. We are just offering up some easy canine suggestions:

1. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

2. Use biodegradable doggie poo bags

3. Buy organic

See? Wasn't that pretty harmless and so easy to do?

Next, we would like to make a clarification about our post yesterday regarding McDonald's new burger. We NEVER said we have actually eaten a burger from McDonald's. In fact, our mom "doesn't shop there" unless our littlest girl deems it absolutely necessary. We've never eaten a burger or tasted a french fry (but not from lack of trying). We are ubber jealous of Mango for getting to eat the fries. Lucky Dog!!! We just thought it would be really cool if they named the new b
urger after one of us since we are really cool dogs. A dogs allowed to dream!

Now, to the good stuff. We have been given this wonderful award from our friend Moose at Dogtalk and our friends Baby Rocket Dog and Hootie. These guys are awesome and we encourage everyone to go check out their blogs.

This wonderful award is given as a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.

The rules are:

~ We must put the award in one post as soon as we receive it.
~ We must not forget to mention the dog(s) who gave us the award

~ We must answer the Awards question by writing the reason why we love blogging

~ And finally, we must tag and distribute the Award to as many friends as we like.

(Must remember to notify the awardees and put their links in our post)

So, our reason for blogging and why we love it. Hmmm......
We would have to say the real reason we love to blog is because we are mouthy and opinionated and feel this is a great way to share the trials, tribulations ups and downs and everywhere in between in our lives. We started our blog as a branch for our moms dog treat business but we quickly took over. We LOVE being able to poke fun at each other, share our crazy quirks and habits and just voice ourselves. We are three lucky dogs! Life is an adventure and we enjoy sharing our adventures with all our friends. We have made so many friends via our blog! We would never have been able to meet so many cool doggies throughout the world had it not been for this incredible forum. Friends... Family... Fun! That sums it all up. Thanks everyone and keep your comments coming. We enjoy each and every one.

We want to pass this award on to ANY DOG OR BLOGGER who has not received it yet. You are all deserving so grab it and go! Share your reasons for your love of blogging and let us know when you make your post. We want to hear all your crazy reasons too!

Happy Earth Day everyone.

A brand new burger

McDonald's Corp.'s new one-third-pound Angus burger appears to be set for a national rollout this fall, and possibly as early as the summer. It would be McDonald's first new burger in eight years. What would you name McDonald's new burger?

Oscar:
My suggestion is "The Big O"

Tucker:
No man. How about the "Tuckerasaurus... with cheese!"

Tinkerbell:
You two are totally wrong. I'm thinking the "Tink Tink"

Hey Mango - a new burger to go with those fries that you love!

Yet another Scam Alert

Good citizens Tinkerbell, Oscar and Tucker here wanting to make you aware of yet another scam.

This one is called the AFLAC SCAM.

Police say that the gang usually is comprised of four members - one adult and three younger ones.

While the three younger ones, all appearing sweet and innocent, divert their "mark" (or intended target - your moms and dads) with a show of friendliness, the fourth -- the eldest -- sneaks in from behind the person's back to expertly rifle through his or her pocket or purse for any valuables and money. (Remember - this is every dogs treat and food money)

BE ON THE ALERT!

Here is a photo from a recent attack that was captured on film...

A Home Invasion

What's a dog to do?

Last night we had a visitor in our house. I had no idea my abode had even been breached. Slept straight through the night without even a sense of an intrusion.

I woke up this morning to squeals of excitement from my little girl. Apparently, she had been visited by a fairy who takes teeth. Left her with a piece of paper that she quickly shoved into her bank shaped like a pink pig squealing with excited utters of "I got more money for our Disney trip!"

No one is making a big deal about this "incident". Going about their business like normal. Between you and me, I have the bejeebies scared out of me! Do they really think it is okay for a little creature to infiltrate our home? AND SHE TAKES TEETH!!!

I am pretty partial to my chompers. They have so many uses. They work wonderfully chomping Tuckers ears and legs. They also are great for chewing kibble and mom's treats. Not to mention how handsome I look with them when I smile.

This whole visit has left me shaking from the tip of my nose to the bottoms of my feet and everywhere in between. I'm a little dude and try very hard to be brave (most of the time). This "incident" has left me rattled.

I think I will burrow under a blanket for a while and hope all this craziness goes away.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Not the kissing type

Tucker here.

I get a lot of grief about not giving kisses. My sister Tink gives kisses. She gives too many kisses. Kisses unsolicited. Ditto for my brother Oscar. Kisses, kisses and more kisses. So I thought I'd come clean and share why I'm a no-kiss kind of guy. Here it goes...

I was the dog nobody wanted. As a puppy I sat in a kennel trying to look cute and cuddly, begging people to want me and to take me home. I was never the first one out of the pen and into the loving arms of the legged people. Too many times I thought I was headed to my new home. But no one took me. I was not one of the lovelies - I was just a snaggle-toothed Pekingese. Too many kisses I gave away and now cannot get back.

So, after a while, I vowed I was done with gratuitous kissing.
One day my luck changed. My dad spotted me and brought me home. Although I was happy, and excited, and nauseous from the short car ride, I could not break my vow.

I love my people and their people and the neighborhood hounds I play with. I am a very lucky guy to have found the
family I have. But, I still save my kisses for all the lesser pooches who still have no place to call home. Maybe some day things will change and I will pucker for my people. But until then, have you guys seen the new collar my brother Oscar is sporting?

Gimme a break!

UPDATE:
After typing my post I started to re-think this vow I had taken. My mom gives me hugs and kisses all the time. My family loves on me and plays with me too. I decided to try the kissing game again. While my mom was holding me, giving me kisses and scratching behind my ears, I decided to kiss her chin. Must have been a whopper of a kiss because my screamed and called my dad into the room to tell him that I had just kissed her. Of course he didn't believe her so I did it again. I was the hero! Like the Grinch, my heart grew three sizes at that moment. I decided to toss my vow out the window and live to kiss again.

Now, don't get all excited. I'm not going to become the kissing bandit. I am still going to give them sparingly but after seeing the effect they had on my mom, I will definitely hand them out a little more often.

Until then...

Kisses!

Tucker

Wordless Wednesday

We apologize for not making a post yesterday. Mom deemed it "Take a Break from the Blog Day" and took our little girl to the museum center to see the dinosaur exhibit/IMAX movie and to visit the childrens museum.

It's all good. We found a way to spend the day so, shhhhhhh. Sit back, relax and enjoy the quiet and the sunshine.

Scam Alert and Happy Easter

It's Friday - Hooray!
Made it through another week (with our family being at work and school). We love the weekends having everyone around all the time!

We want to wish all our friends a Happy Easter! May your baskets be full of cookies, stuffies with squeakies, tennis balls and carob bunnies!

With all good things comes the bad though. We wanted to make all our friends aware of an Easter Scam.

Do not fall for this. We repeat... DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
Apparently, there are some Easter Bunny posers. They have disguised themselves to resemble the actual Easter Bunny. Do not be fooled! They are really just after your basket of goodies!

Stay alert at all times and be true guard dogs with your baskets!

Our work here is done.

Mr. Puggle: Mr. Puggle's 100th Post & Prize Giveaway is coming

Mr. Puggle: Mr. Puggle's 100th Post & Prize Giveaway is coming

Too cool for school!

So, I don't know if the world wide web has seen, but I am kind of a bigger deal now. Not only am I a miniature Dachshund, I'm now rockin' a high-fashion collar. Did I really need more virtues?

But anyway, if you don't have a collar like mine, you need one! In just a couple days of wearing it, I am faster, I glow in the dark and all the dogs want to be me!

My mom got it here. You should too!

Make me more special

So, maybe you've heard; maybe not. My little brother Oscar is rockin' some new bling now. Mom says its a stylish, custom, one-of-a-kind collar, but I think it's clearly the mark of her favorite.

I rock a free "Dog Fest" yellow collar.

F-R-E-E... FREE!

Yellow (not even my color)!

I'm a mutt; a rescue mutt. I'm a special girl and I need special stuff to make me feel even more special. I'm taller than my brothers. I'm faster, smarter, better-looking - do I really need to continue?

So, what do you think? Shouldn't the protector, the alpha, the original first dog of the house get something new too?

All inquiries can reach me weekdays only, on my comfy homemade bed. Looking forward to learning how you can help me stand out among these diminutive brothers of mine.

Sportin' some serious Bling!

Tinkerbell, Oscar and Tucker: Our mom needs to tell you all something very important so we are letting her use the compute today. Take it away mom!

Mom: Thanks guys! I appreciate your kindness.

Hi everyone! I have something the share with you. I am the type of person that when I find a great deal or a good thing, I call everyone I know and tell them about it. Today, is one of those days.

Plume Tail, Special S, & the Almost Border Collie (also known as Shiner, Qwill and Trophey) are fellow dog bloggers. They are pretty cool doggies who also have a very talented mom.

Alexis, their mom, is the owner of Love of Qwill, an etsy shop. She custom makes dog collars for any sized neck and are available in three different types - and you pick the fabric! She makes the classic Buckle Collar, the Martingale collar (also known as a greyhound collar) which has limited slip to prevent the dog from escaping, and the Streamline collar, which is a hybrid of the traditional buckle collar and the Martingale collar and is adjustable to slip over the dogs head, onto the neck to be adjusted.

I asked Alexis to make a collar to fit my dachshund Oscar. I gave her free reign on fabric choice (just keeping in mind that he is a boy). The only stipulation I had was that I have a hard time seeing him at night since he is a dark furred dog and that I would want a collar that would help me see him in the dark.

Here is his new collar!

What a handsome dude!
(even if he is eating rabbit poo in this picture)

I am so pleased with his new collar! The prices are just right, the collar is well stitched and it seems pretty indistructable and the fabric choice was perfect! The green is just bright enough for me to be able to keep track of him when we are outside at night.

Stop over and meet the trio of Shiner, Qwill and Trophey. Check out their blog today because they are having a special give-a-way! Most importantly, support a fellow dog-blogger! You will be so glad that you did!

What caption would you put with this picture?

Baseball season is here!

Spring will officially arrive in the 'Nati on Monday are we are going to spend the weekend getting ready.
Most of you are thinking, "Well, spring has already begun. What are you guys talking about?"
We're talking baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and peanuts... get your peanuts!
We're talking about America's favorite pasttime...
baseball and the Cincinnati Reds!

The Cincinnati Reds game has historically been the first game of the season. It's a big deal here since the Redstockings are the oldest team in baseball. There is a lot of festivities planned on Monday. The annual parade through downtown, the festivities on Fountain Square, lots of food and beverages, all in a sea of red. It is hard not to get caught up in it all. The discussions and hopes of a World Series championship vibrate thoughtout the downtown area.

We plan on spending a lot of time this weekend in the backyard practicing running the bases and playing with the baseball. Perhaps a game or two of pickle will also be played.

Tinkerbell: Know what else Monday brings? NICK LACHEY!!! Cincinnati's hometown boy will be on-hand for all the festivities. Isn't he just dreamy?!?

Oscar and Tucker: Oh Tink! You are such a girl!

Here's what we boys are excited about?
MR. REDLEGS AND ROSIE RED!
They are the mascots of the Reds and are giant baseballs! We have dreams about chasing them around the baseball diamond, tackling them and chewing on their baseball heads! Gapper is the other mascot. He is like the biggest stuffie toy ever! Who wouldn't want to sink their teeth into him and play tug-o-war with his big, honker nose?

Check out that baseball bat!
Wouldn't you like to munch on that for a while?

We understand there are those doggies out there that have no appreciation for baseball, and that's okay. To each their own.
But, we do know that every dog loves to run, play with a ball, and roll in the dirt. That's what baseball is all about and that's why we love Opening Day and the Cincinnati Reds!

Have a great weekend to all of our buddies.
We're rounding third and heading for home!
(That's our tribute to former Reds player/broadcaster Joe Nuxall, the old lefthander)

Tug-O-War

A wonderful game of tug-o-war with our best boy.

Oscar and Tucker are really easy to dominate at this game so every once in a while, I like to take on a much bigger challenge... My boy!

Poor kid didn't stand a chance. This is my best game! I'm thinking about vying for a spot on the doggie olympic tug-o-war team.

Life doesn't get much better than this!
