Hi friends. We're back from our on-and-off hiatus. It wasn't our choice to take a hiatus but when you rely on your people to log you onto the internet so that you can blog and they are "too busy" well....
(Note to self: when we get to heaven, ask God why he didn't give us thumbs)
We have been super busy even with our kids back in school. Mom has started to tackle a few things on the "honey-do" list even though her honey isn't doing anything to help. She was finally able to tackle the office/computer/meditating/where they keep our kennels/time-out room. It has been in serious need of a new paint job.
We decided that since we weren't doing a whole lot of anything else that we would help. Thank goodness we were there for her.
Tucker made sure that her drop cloth didn't go anywhere. Tinkerbell layed in the middle of the room. I stayed under the desk so I could keep an eye on things and point out spots that she missed.
We know we were huge helps cause she kept telling us how excited she was to have all of us in the room with her so that she would have to constantly be stepping over us. The room is now a lovely shade of grey (I guess it helps being color blind).
Two trees have also been cut down and chopped up. Two more stumps for me to lift my leg on! The wood has been stored on the side of the house for now. We weren't allowed to help with that project. The chain-saw thingy was just way too loud!
Mom has also been spending a lot of time in the recliner in the evenings whining to anyone in general about being old and something about muscles not being used in a while. We've got her taken care of though. I lay next to her pushing her rump further into the side of the recliner. Tucker lays by her feet on the leg of the recliner, making sure to leave her very little room to put her legs and Tink lays under the recliner. When she starts complaining about not having any room, we tune her out with the dulcet tones of Tinks snoring.
A dogs job is never done. She is so lucky to have the three of us.
Later - Oscar

Nice job helping your mom, Oscar, it sounds like the three of you worked real hard on keeping her on her toes to get the job done.
You did a great job! Our mom says we are always on her way but that is not true we only want to make sure she doesn't feel all alone! :)

It must be something in the air - my mom has been complaining about getting old....and her hair color is starting to match mine!!! Mom also complains about the "honey to do list" which usually means - dad saying "I'll do it tomorrow" but somehow tomorrow never comes and mom ends up doing it herself. We do have one difference though - I sit around comforting my dad as it is just so hard work doing NOTHING
Sheesh! My momma is always telling me no crying and she cries just like yours. Those Honey-Do lists seem endless, huh? We have post it notes with "stuff to do" that are years old.
Your mom must feel good to be able to check some things off the list. Of course she never could have done it without your help.
Slobbers,
Mango
She is VERY lucky to have you all to be such big helps. I like to lay in the middle of the kitchen floor and help pick up food particles that drop. I am good at it too if I do say so myself.
Your Mom sure is a hard worker-no wonder her muscles hurt.
Keep up the good work, gang!
Chester ;0=)

Your human has been plenty busy. It is a good thing that she has the three of you to help keep her on track.
Oh Yeah, a dachshund's work is never done. Of course you three are all super workers. How else would your mom have managed. I didn't know that other people had cliner chairs. Aren't they just grrreat??? Especially after a spurt of supervising.
