A Sad Day In Nibbles Treats World

We have received some really sad news.
Our good friend Sammy has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Unfortunately Sammy was a victim due to the festivities and fireworks on Independence Day. We read about tragedies like this all the time but this is the first time some doggy we are friends with has fallen victim. During all the festivities, Sammy was accidentally able to escape the safe confines of her home. During the rainy evening and fireworks, she ran into the road and was struck by a car. She died in the arms of her owner, our friend, while being consoled and reminded of how much she was loved and how wonderful of a companion she was. Our heart breaks for our friend.

Sammy was special to our mom's organic dog treat business. So special that she even had a treat named after her. (Sammy Sticks).

We will miss our friend Sammy deeply.
Sammy, have fun running with all the other doggy friends we have lost in the past and remember that you were loved very much.
UPDATE:
We received this message from Sammy's mom and wanted to share with all our readers:
"How wonderful all of you are to express your sympathies to me and my family. Sammy will never be replaced. She was a perfect pet. I will get another dog but my hurt will go on. As you all know the loss of a pet in any way is devasting but I feel so awful that she died this way. She'd probably give me her little grunt and say "it's ok mommy I'm still having fun over the rainbow" Love to all."
Thank you all for all your wonderful words. You are a great group of bloggers!

Hi my friends,

Mommy started crying when she read this post. Fireworks should be outlawed so no more pups will get hurt and killed. They don't scare me but my brother Jacks was so scared of them that he would jump on Mommy lap and shiver the whole time. He would bury his head in Mommy's armpit and if she had to get up she had to carry him.

Please tell Sammy's owners that are thoughts and prayers are with them.

that is so so sad....

we all complained how over the top fire works were this year, my little corgi buddy Franklin even had to have tranquilizers to try and keep him calm but even in his sleep he was shaking and jumping at the noise.

please pass on our condolences to Sammy's mom and let her know they don't allow fireworks over the rainbow bridge so Sammy will be happy forever more

That is so sad; having your dog/baby die is such a horrible feeling...especially if it isn't expected.
