Spring if finally here and Remembering an old friend

First of all...
HAPPY SPRING!!!
We know every dog is looking forward to warmer weather. Our friends down under are enjoying their last days of warm weather before winter sets in. So, may today be a delightful day for every dog!

The other day, our mom saw a doggie that reminded her of her dog b.t.o.t. (before Tink, Oscar and Tucker).

Years ago, our family had a dog named JR. What did JR stand for? Absolutely nothing. Apparently they thought that was funny.

JR was a tank of love. He was an English Bulldog who crossed over the rainbow bridge too early in his life. When JR was two years old, he developed a few hot spots on his chest. The vet treated them with antibiotics and they got better. Then they got worse... The vet treated them with antibiotics and they got better. Then they got worse... The vet treated them with antibiotics and they got better. Then they got worse... Get the picture? This went on for a year. Finally, he was sent to a specialist because the vet could not prescribe any stronger antibiotic. Sad news. He actually had cancer and was full of tumors inside. Never once did he complain or act uncomfortable. He was always a trooper.

JR is the reason my mom started her
dog treat business. She always wondered if something JR ate added to or caused the cancer. So, everything she makes is all natural and organic. No chemicals in this house!

Here's a picture of the old boy.

JR looks like a big solid sort of a dog!

It is always hard when you see a dog that reminds you of one you lost.

Sounds like JR inspired your mum to start her business so he must have been one great dog.

Lucky you three are there to keep your mum busy - sorry should be mom!

He looks like a wonderful big pup with a huge heart - I want to thank you for the kind comments on Sam's blog - I added some news in the comments - Sam has surgery this am - in fact, is probably in prep right this moment. A piece of glove is still lodged behind a little flap (in stomach or intestine - will find out exactly later for your girl) and it has to come out. I'll be posting more either later or this weekend. Thanks so, so much for your kind comment and encouragement.
Hugs,
Sam's mom

What a horribly short life for JR :( The Pug That Came First, Oliver, had a very sad short life too. He had kidney failure which we think was due to sugar free gum (he was a thief from ALL purses he could find!) We really enjoyed learning about JR and think that he sounded like an amazing doggie friend.

Oh, how sad! JR sounds like he left quite a legacy.

Oh dear, this of course makes us very sad. We did post a link to your mum's organic doggy treats website at Special Features / Resources page / Canine Health. It's gotten very big so we're going to have to organize it better. But have your mum know that we've refused others who wanted to pay us to promote their goods, but we think anyone affiliated with O.T. and T. should be recognized! Love, your PaLs, LuLu and LoLLy

JR sure was one handsome dude. Doggies are so brave when they have the sickies. I guess it took three dogs to fill his paws, huh?

JR was a very sweet boy!

It is amazing what dogs can withstand. We just know he had the best life. And it led you to your own business.

Everything happens in our lives for a reason.
