Great Big Dogs

My story begins like this...

Last night, our mom had a volleyball game and she didn't get home until 10:45pm. I was the only one awake to perform the "Hi! Welcome Home! Sniff, sniff, lick, lick!" ritual. The boys were sleeping soundly. Some watchdogs they are.

I met mom at the door, performed the ritual and followed her to the kitchen. After lots of head rubs from mom and tail wags from me, she grabbed the leash and headed toward the back door.

Alright! We're going for a walk.
She put the leash on me, opened the door and....

HOLY MOLY - THE BIGGEST DOGS I'VE EVER SEEN ARE IN MY BACK YARD!!!

I hit the brakes. I was stunned. My legs were frozen in place. I couldn't even bark. Our whole back yard was nothing but big dogs with shiny yellow eyes staring back at me. Twenty feet away were at least 6 sets of eyes glaring at me and my mom.

I quickly sized them up and backtracked into the house. I decided now was not the time for a little jaunt in the back yard.

Without passing go and collecting $200, I grumbled a few muffled barks, headed upstairs to my girls room and went straight to bed. The boys are never going to believe this! If rabbits scare them, I can only imagine what they would do if they ever ran into these guys!

Woah those does look really scary!! You is scared of rabbits? You would not like Faline then, she used to box me to tell me off when I was little. Fear is why we is friends.

OMDog!! Those are the biggest dogs I have ever seen too! You must have been totally freaked out. But if it was me, I would have tried to chase them. I would never let such big animals intrude my territory!

Hi Tinkerbell

We sometimes see those big dogs here in Scotland. They leave a very exciting scent!
Next time get Tucker and Oscar up out of their beds and go out.
If you all just stand there barking they run like mad.
If your lucky your mum will let you chase them - our mum wont let us cos she is no fun at all.
Still if your mum plays volley ball that means she enjoys a game so you might be lucky!

Next time you see them, all you have to do is bark and start running after them. Those big dogs are nothing but scardy cats. I have encountered several of them in my yard as well.

Sure you freaked out because you are just a wee little doggie. We get bambis in our neighbor's yard sometimes and I chase them away. I would protect you if I could.
