Nothing is ever what it seems

It's raining outside - not much to do today except eat, sleep and play with toys. Sounds pretty uncomplicated, especially since I am an uncomplicated kinda guy, but the simple act of playing with a toy is really not as simple as it seems.

Exhibit A:
Me... minding my own business chewing on a bone.

Exhibit B:
The crazy little vulture brother of mine waiting in the wings to swoop down and steal my bone when I least expect it.

Oscar always wants what everyone else has. Life should be simple. Instead, I have to watch over my toys like a bear watches over her cubs. Gotta always sleep with one eye open. Playing with my toy is never as simple as it may seem.

Tuesday Time With Tucker

Smackdown time!

In this corner we have Oscar, the whiny dachshund who wants what everyone else has.

In this corner, we have Tucker with his new favorite baby, the dog.

[Note from Mom: Tucker stole this stuffed dog from one of the kids and has decided that this is the next best thing to my treats. He carries it around and babies it. He has a cow also that he treats the same way.]

Nobody steals my Baby from me... nobody!

Whiny little hot dog! Get up and wrestle!

Ha! I've seen meaner faces on my girl when she wakes up grouchy in the morning!

Bite my ear and I'll bit your tail!

Pinned ya! That should teach you to steal my Baby Dog!

Tink: Every day we go through the same routine. You would think Oscar would learn and boy are they going to be in trouble for wrestling on Mom's sofa.

Tucker: Time for a nap Baby. I will always keep you safe from that big-snooted toy stealer.

Oscar: Yeah, well while you are sleeping, I am going to be plotting my next plan of attack.

A boy and his dog.

[Tink here. Mom wanted you all to hear what we have to listen to ALL THE TIME! Yes, that sound you are hearing really is Tucker. His Ewok/Yeti/Chewbaca heritage shows. Sorry about the quality of the video - a little dark.]

The Scene of the Crime

There is a mystery that needs to be solved in our house.

Yesterday, our aunt gave mom some more of those fun critters that have no stuffing in them and look like road kill for us to play with. She gave us a raccoon and a fox. Our tails were wagging so hard it was like a hurricane in the house. We were having so much fun playing tug-of-war but mostly we were enjoying biting their tails and heads to make them squeak.

This morning when we got up, someone had killed them. Our raccoon no longer squeaked whenever we chomped on its little head. The squeaker from the fox had been ripped from the confines of its head and was dangling like a child's loose tooth.

Who would do such a thing? Who would kill our road kill?

New Toy

I had a happy birthday on Tuesday.
Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It was a pleasure to share the day with the historical event my parents called "Inauguration Day". Not quite sure what that means but there was a ton of whoopla on the t.v. No dogs though. What's up with that?!?

Mom got me a new toy for my birthday.
Even though I am a de-stuffer and make it my mission to get every squeaker out of every toy, she thought it was really cute and loved the noise it made. I was so happy I carried it around but the boys wouldn't leave me alone! They followed me everywhere wanting to play tug-of-war with it!

Good thing I am a good sharer.

My new toy makes me happy.

Hugs and kisses to my mom!
